Mike Persia Chevrolet 300 N Rampart New Orleans

“Buy your Chevrolet from Persia……Mike Persia Chevrolet”……..as the jingle played on the radio.  During the 1950s Mike Persia Chevrolet was the largest Chevrolet franchise in the South with multiple locations in New Orleans, Houston and San Antonio.  Many Chevrolets were sold thru the Mike Persia dealerships from the 1950s thru the mid 1970s.  Here is a look back at Mike Persia Chevrolet.  The dealerships in Houston and New Orleans were renamed to Joe Conte Chevrolet in the mid 1970s.   Enjoy……..

Wow! “No payments ’til January” and “Se Habla Espanol” back in the 60s! He was way ahead of his time. Love the old dealership photos.

I remember the one in downtown Houston. I also remember the commercials on TV.

Hey Freddie! Mike Persia was my great grand father and I would LOVE to buy the drinking glasses off you if you still have them. Never had the pleasure of meeting him and this would be something cool to have from his old dealerships.

Really brings back happy memories. I bought a brand new 57 chevy bel air from Mike Persia in San Antonio and drove it home to Brownsville. In the 60’s I moved away and lost track of the dealership. Unique building and location. Glad to see these online posts.

Worked at Mike Persia in 1972. Remember a lot of the employees. Went on to work for General Motors Accp. Corp. for 32 years. (GMAC) Seems like a lifetime ago.
